 The
children’s quick painting contest, “El Concurs Infantil
de Pintura Rapida” is held during the city festival of Sant
Narcís. The old part of the city becomes both the theme and
the scene where this event takes place. An average of 1,500 students
from the schools of Girona, aged between 6 and 16, take part. The
participants in this event can draw anything they want. There are
three categories in the contest: youngsters (under 9 years old), children
(from 10 to 12 years old) and youth (from 13 to 16 years old). In
each category, there are three prizes and two second prizes which
are awarded at the prize-giving ceremony. There is also the special
GEiEG prize for participation, for the school which has included the
most students.
