 The
Girona flower festival "Girona, Temps de Flors" is one of
the most important events in the city and in Girona society. The event
is held in the month of May, and allows the town’s citizens,
and the numerous visitors which Girona receives over these days, to
see areas which are closed during the rest of the year (because they
belong to private owners or because no activity takes place there)
decorated with all kinds of flowers and plants.
Throughout its history, the association has participated several
times in the event, but not every year. In 1997, the Group was present
in the exhibition for the first time with a bunch of wild flowers,
and the association’s standard in the cellars of Girona Cathedral,
an area which that year was the great novelty of the exhibition,
as up until then the space had been closed. In later years the Group
has participated in the exhibition in different spaces in the city,
and also decorates the balcony of its head office in La Plaça
del Vi.
