Every
24th December, the association organises the Group’s Midnight
Mass, a traditional celebration which has also been held outside the
city of Girona since 1950. The celebration of Midnight Mass is accompanied
by our traditional Christmas Supper. The GEiEG first organised Midnight
Mass at the monastery of Els Àngels in 1950. Hermitages in
the towns of Estanyol, Madremanya, Monells, Juià, Ullastret,
Bordils, Sant Miquel de Fluvià, Castelló d'Empúries,
Castell d'Aro, Ultramort, Sant Jordi Desvalls, Domeny, Campdorà,
Santa Afra, Monestir Sta. M. de Cadins (St. Medir), St. Joan de Mollet,
St. Pere de Fluvià, St. Sadurní de Vilafreser, St. Julià
de Ramis, Vilademuls, Sta. M. de Colomers, the church of Gaüses,
the hermitage of Els Sants Metges (St. Julià de Ramis), of
Castellar (Quart), Vilajoan, and even the Cathedral of Girona and
the church of Sant Feliu have hosted this celebration, which over
the years has not had the continuity desired.
