 The
Christmas holiday activities for children and young people, "Lleuresport",
was first started in 1985 with the objective of offering the city
of Girona a service. At that time this type of event was a novelty
in the province of Girona. The Group has always tried to be innovative
in this event, with a variety of leisure and sporting activities.
Traditionally Lleuresport is divided into a variety of areas, such
as adventure, workshops, sports, games and spectacles. The number
of activities directed at children and adolescents is quite extensive
and visitors can launch themselves in the air on the monkey-bridge,
paint their faces, practice archery, play any sport, play with inflatable
giants, learn to use apparatus and methods of new technologies, learn
the language of cinematography and make a short film, and learn how
to make a Chinese lantern. 
The shows consist of a series of events such as the visit of the pages
of the Three Wise Men, acts by a storyteller, a children's entertainer,
magicians, clowns, or famous sportsmen and women from all sporting
areas from Girona. At the GEiEG Lleuresport, leisure and learning
go hand in hand. This activity normally opens four days before the
end of the year, and closes three days after the beginning of the
New Year.
